Jan 01, 2012My Online Vet Response for: Eye infection in 16 year old Yorkshire Terrier
by: Dr. Carol Jean Tillman

Hello,
From the photos of your 16 year old female Yorkshire Terrier, the redness may be due to inflammation from an infection, but it is more likely due to hemorrhage secondary to changes in the cataract. You should take her to a veterinary ophthalmologist to check for uveitis, glaucoma or a possible tumor, to locate the source of the bleeding. Or to diagnose if it is due to an infection, which I cannot do from only looking at a photo.
